For translations and copy-editing, we have an in-house team of highly-experienced translators who hold degrees in translation and interpreting. German
German is spoken in Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein as well as in parts of Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Italy, Denmark and Poland. It is one of the official languages of the European Union, where it is the most widely-spoken first language. There are estimated to be around 100 million native speakers around the world.
Uses of German
The German language market is one of the most important in Europe. Offering products labelled in German or services in this language is key to making sales because it is the mother tongue of a large part of the European population. If you present a document written in a particular language, you want it to be accurate in terms of grammar, syntax and language use, but you also want it to sound natural and fluent to the reader. So, even if the text is already in the right language, it should be revised (or in our jargon: proofread) to ensure a high-quality result. Texts written in other languages and that need to be translated into German should also be reviewed to ensure they meet the linguistic criteria of the target language.
This requires the services of language professionals with the right qualifications: with degrees in translation, or with demonstrable experience... there’s more than one way to do it. For German, the best approach is to find professionals who are native speakers and who know how to translate into the variety of German needed, because it’s not the same task to prepare a text for Germany as it is for Austria or Switzerland.
